The Ament lab utilizes genomic and stem cell technologies to investigate the biological mechanisms underlying brain disorders. We aim to translate genomic discoveries into a deeper understanding of disease and new opportunities for diagnosis and treatment.Â
We are located within the Institute for Genome Sciences (IGS) at the University of Maryland School of Medicine (UMSOM) in Baltimore, Maryland. The lab is also affiliated with the Maryland Psychiatric Research Center, the University of Maryland -- Medicine Institute for Neuroscience Discovery (UM-MIND), and the Kahlert Institute for Addiction Medicine.
