I wanted to use the moth as an expression for change and seeking the light: the goal. Awed by what people would do to get perfect grades or look pretty, I made this to show the greedy nature of humans. Like a moth, humans are always attracted to the light and are willing to die for their desire.

I wanted to reverse the roles of predator humans and prey mammals as karma for hunting animals for sport. If hunted animals were on the top of the food chain, then would they hang us up as trophies too?

A portrait of a stereotypical family inspired by the 50's that is seemingly perfect to society. This family consist of preys and predators coexisting. Each animal being connected to their role and personality.

The hand picks the candy he desires, while the unappetising ones are left out. This is a direct depiction of how society chooses what is considered pretty and disregard the "ugly". This is to show, that even if you look the same on the outside, it’s what’s inside that really counts. People nowadays fail to see that and tend to judge a book by its cover.

I deliberately choose fruits which represent fertility to show rebirth. Fruits are preserved to lengthen their usage and are still edible. Humans are constantly trying to expand the lifespan of something in opposition to death. These fruits show the desperation to live despite being close to death.

This is a piece depicting substance abuse with a see-through girl. She is being consumed by the ocean which represents the loss of her true self. By reaching toward the light, she hopes of getting out of the addiction, but the seaweeds are chaining the girl down and preventing her from resurfacing.

I wanted to show the progressive healing of self harm through flowers. I experimented with the amount of ink placed in order to covey a certain mood. The flowers blooming from the wounds show a new beginning.
