The Task: Write and design a booklet to honor the legacy of landscaper Fujitaro Kubota, his work on Seattle University's campus, and the opening of the new Kubota Legacy Garden.

My Roles: Editorial Designer, Photographer, Historical Researcher, Interviewer, and Writer.

The Execution: I created a 28 page book that chronicles Fujitaro Kubota's time in Seattle, his business, his work at Seattle University, and the process of preserving his trees and creating a new garden. To obtain the information for the book, I conducted hours of interviews with  members of the Kubota family, the Kubota foundation, the landscape architects building the new garden, and Seattle University Grounds and Landscaping. Additionally, I obtained the copyright for historical photographs that I found after laborious research. Several of the photographs featured in the book are also my own.
