Do I have to represent an AmCham Romania member company to join the delegation?

No, local and international companies (non-U.S.) operating in Clean Tech / Energy and the Food & Beverage sectors are welcome to join the delegation.

Do I have to pay a participation fee to join the delegation?

No, delegates will only need to cover their travel and lodging expenses.

Do I have to stay a the hotel recommended by AmCham Romania?

No, you can choose any accommodation, based on your preferences.

I also want to join the 2025 "SelectUSA Investment Summit". Do I need to register separately?

Yes, you will need to register separately. The "SelectUSA Investment Summit" is organized by the U.S. Department of Commerce and registrations are screened before approval. To learn more about the Summit agenda and register to attend, please visit https://www.selectusasummit.us/.

Travel-related Questions:

When should I arrive in Chicago, Illinois?

We recommend you plan to arrive in Chicago on May 5th in the evening the latest. The delegation program starts on May 6th in the morning.

Will AmCham arrange local transport in Chicago?

For travel in Downtown Chicago, delegates will use public transport or will walk (if distances are short). For travel outside Downtown Chicago, AmCham Romania will arrange local transportation. During the May 8-9 "SelectCHI" event, the organizers will ensure local transportation for all delegates.

Delegates will be responsible for their transfer to and from the airport in Chicago. However, if traveling on the flight recommended by AmCham, delegates will be able to share airport transfers.

Do I need a B1/B2 U.S. Visa to join the delegation?

You will either need a valid B1/B2 U.S. Visa or an approved ESTA to participate in the delegation.

Starting March 31st, Romanian citizens will be able to travel to the United States with an approved ESTA without needing a B1/B2 U.S. Visa. If you already have a valid B1/B2 U.S. Visa, you don't need to apply for an ESTA.
