about

I am from the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia

I have a PhD in Sciences du langage/Linguistics from the Université Côte d'Azur, where I worked in the lab Bases, Corpus, Langage (BCL, CNRS UMR 7320), under the direction of Tobias Scheer in Nice, France.

The title of my dissertation is Possible and Impossible Languages: Naturalness, Third Factors, and Substance-Free Phonology in the Light of Crazy Rules  which treats phonetically unnatural patterns in phonology.
