Arrival Day

June 21, 2022

Prior to Arrival

You do not need to have a COVID test prior to arriving in Canada. Canadian immigration has waived this requirement as long as you are fully vaccinated. Please bring your original vaccination cards with you and keep with your passports. As of June 12, 2022 you no longer need a negative COVID test to re-enter the US.

Upon Arrival

All Air Canada flights will have you transit in a Canadian location (usually Toronto or Montreal). That means you will clear customs and immigration in your first port of entry and arrive at the domestic terminal in Calgary. US Airlines like American, Delta and United have you go through one of their hubs in the US, and you will come into the International Terminal in Calgary, which means you have to clear customs and immigration once you land.

If you are arriving on June 21st, once you exit the airport take an UBER or taxi to Enterprise Rent-A-Car at Country Hill Toyota, 20 Freeport Landing NE. It's about a 10 minute drive from the airport. Keep your receipt or email it to amcstacia@gmail.com if you would like to be reimbursed for the ride. The rental cars should be ready and you will just have to present your driver's license to the agent to get the key. If you arrive a day or two before the trip starts, please arrive at the Enterprise at 1:00pm to pick up your vehicle. The Enterprise desk is INSIDE the SERVICE BUILDING.

Since early arrivals are sharing vehicles make sure to wait for your other family listed below!! See the roster of phone numbers.

It may be a tight squeeze with luggage on the way to Lake Louise but we can reconfigure luggage and passengers when we make our way to Jasper. Pack efficiently!

The Lake Louise Inn is located at 210 Village Road in Lake Louise. It is exactly a 2-hour drive without traffic along the Transcanada Highway 1. If you would like a more scenic route you can get off at the Bow Valley Parkway 1A in Banff and follow the Bow River to Lake Louise. The Transcanada is fenced in to keep wildlife off the highway, but the Bow Valley Parkway is not, so your liklihood of seeing some wildlife is much greater, but it will add an additional 20-30 minutes to your drive. Driving directions can be found here.

After you check in and relax feel free to go down to dinner at the Legends Restaurant, which will be open from 6:00 to 8:00pm for our group. There is a more limited menu to choose from, which includes an appetizer, entree and dessert. Alcoholic drinks are to be paid for separately. There will be a group meeting at 8:30pm, location TBA. Meet in the lobby.
