How can I participate in the AMC 10/12 and AMC8?
In order to participate in the AMC10/12 or AMC8, you need a teacher at your school to organize the competition. That teacher can find information on this site or email me with further questions.
What is the best way to prepare for the AMC 10/12 and AMC8?
The Art of Problem Solving website maintains a list of all past contests. Working problems from these is the best way to prepare for the competition.
Do you organize other competitions?
I am the coordinator for the AMC10/12 and AMC 8 competitions in much of Western Europe. I do not organize another other competitions.
What if my school does not want to participate?
In my experience very few schools will not help their students to participate in the AMC10/12 or AMC8. Occasionally a school believes that some other math contest is a better fit for its students, and it is not my place to disagree. While the AMC is a great contest, there are other great contests.
For students the in London area, I have authorized AEC (there website is here) to administer the test. They charge an additional invigilation fee. You can contact them at info@aectutors.co.uk
This year there may also be a testing center in Paris. You can email me for details.
If your school will not participate and you would like help finding another location at which to participate, please fill out this form (for the AMC 10/12) or this form (for the AMC 8).
