What do I need to do in order for my school to participate in the AMC10/12 or AMC8?
You can find registration forms here. And you need to commit to following the rules and procedures outlines in this document. Administering the competition should require less than an hour prior to the contest day, about an hour and a half for the contest itself, and about an additional hour to scan and send the test papers afterward
What is the cost?
If registration and payment is received by the deadline (see the timeline), the cost is:
10 euros per student for the first 5 students
8 euros per student for the next 15 students
6 euros per student for any additional students
For late registrations, significantly delayed payments, or additional students beyond those initially registered, the cost is 11 euros per student.
Schools in the U.K. will be invoiced in pounds - the total due will be converted and rounded to the nearest GBP.
Can my students also participate in the AIME?
Yes; students in any country can qualify for and participate in the AIME (American Invitational Mathematics Examination). If your students do well enough to qualify, you will receive further information. There is no additional cost for the AIME.
Can students participate in both the AMC 10 and the AMC 12?
On a given date (say the A date) students can only participate in either the AMC 10 or the AMC 12. Students can participate in both the A and B contests, and if they are in grade 10 or below, they can take the AMC 10 one day and AMC 12 the other.
How do I get the test questions?
About a week before the competition, schools will receive an email with final instructions. Attached to this email will be answer sheets and a spreadsheet template (for student names, ages, etc). About 12 hours before the contest, the organizing teacher will receive an email with a PDF of the test booklet. After the competition, that teacher will scan answer sheets and send them by email along with the completed spreadsheet.
