Australian Research Centre Climate Extremes (CLEX) Research Group Undergraduate Project in 2021
Supervisor: Dr Stacey Hitchcock.
Analysed 15 years of 1 min rain gauge data across 30 locations in Melbourne Australia, to infer extreme events.
Conclusions:
Angle between orientation and propagation became smaller.
Measures of intensity (ETH, Reflectivity) increased.
Monash University Undergraduate research project in 2023
Supervisor: Dr Andrew Gunn.
Compared surface wind orientation and magnitudes from outputs from three Titan global climate models.
Conclusions:
The TitanWRF (WRF) (Newman et al. 2011) model was most comparable to the observed background easterlies.
However, the dunes required westerlies for formation and maintenance.
