The Dark Knight Rises

The Dark Knight Rises (2012) takes place years after Harvey Dent’s death, with Bruce Wayne broken and retired while Gotham lives under a lie, until Bane arrives exposing the truth, breaking Batman physically and mentally, trapping Gotham in chaos, forcing Bruce to rise again from nothing, reclaim his strength and purpose, defeat Bane with help from Catwoman, and finally sacrifice himself to save the city—leaving Gotham safe, Batman gone, and Bruce Wayne choosing peace while passing the symbol on to the next protector.
