Oppenheimer
Oppenheimer is a biographical historical drama film directed by Christopher Nolan that follows the life of J. Robert Oppenheimer, the American physicist who became one of the central figures in the development of the first atomic bomb during World War II. The movie shows his early academic years, his work leading the secret Los Alamos Laboratory where the Manhattan Project scientists designed and built the world’s first nuclear weapons, and the detonation of the Trinity test prototype bomb in New Mexico. It also covers the later political fallout he faced in the 1950s, including a public security hearing in which his past associations and views on nuclear weapons are scrutinized by the U.S. government. Along with depicting his scientific achievements and struggles, the film weaves in his personal relationships and the broader context of the era as he grapples with the consequences of the weapon he helped create.
