Teaching isn’t just about delivering content—it’s about helping students build confidence, challenge their thinking, and grow into lifelong learners.
My approach is shaped by my background in tech, coaching, and design, and my belief that learning should be personal and engaging.
I believe learning should be student-centered, active, and meaningful. I take a constructivist, project-based approach, meaning students learn best by doing—whether they’re designing solutions to real-world problems, collaborating on creative projects, or engaging in hands-on exploration. At the heart of my teaching are three core beliefs:
Growing up in rural Ohio and experiencing economic hardship, I know what it feels like to be underestimated. One teacher changed my life by pushing me to aim higher—and I strive to do the same. I believe in the 'warm demander' approach: setting high expectations while giving students the scaffolding and encouragement they need to reach them.
I embrace STEAM—science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics—because students engage more when they can create and express in multiple ways. For example, my students love using robots to design shapes that become art. You'll almost always hear music or see kids dancing, building, and creating in my classroom.
Students should see themselves in what they learn. That’s why I incorporate culturally responsive teaching and service-learning into my classroom. I also make equity and social justice central to my teaching—because when learning is relevant and inclusive, students engage more deeply and build skills that last a lifetime (and change the world!).

I believe embracing language and culture creates more personal learning opportunities. By deepening my own language skills, in Spanish and Greek, I can create a more inclusive environment where students feel empowered to express themselves and connect with diverse perspectives.
Inspired by my own journey discovering the arts later in life, I love to infuse creativity into my lessons. Whether through music, visual art, or storytelling, I create opportunities for students to engage deeply, think critically, and express themselves in meaningful ways.
With a background in marketing technology, UX design, and project management, I care deeply about using technology to enhance student learning. I’m committed to bridging the digital divide for disadvantaged students. I’m also a MagicSchool AI Pioneer, and I’m earning my Google and Apple Teacher certifications. I’m always exploring new ways to integrate tech in meaningful, student-driven ways, staying adaptable to this ever-evolving space.
I believe service-learning connects academics to real-world impact. Volunteering with Crisis Text Line taught me how service builds leadership, responsibility, and purpose. I’m excited to expand these opportunities by partnering with local organizations and researching ways to incorporate service projects into my teaching. I want to help students see their education as a tool for change, empowering them to make an impact in their communities and beyond.
