Prof.Ambalam Pushpanathan has been promoted as Professor in Management, Department of Management and Entrepreneurship since 22.12.2021. He passed his Bachelor of Business Administration with Second Class (Upper Division) in the 1989 and Postgraduate Diploma in Management in 1996 and He received Doctor of Philosophy in Management Science in Enterprise Management from Xiamen University, China in 2008. He was awarded Best International student Encouraging Award from Xiamen University, Xiamen, China in 2006. His research interests are Entrepreneurship and small Business Management Development and Marketing Management. Prof.Pushpanathan is a Senior Academic at the Department of Management and Entrepreneurship, Faculty of Business Studies, where he has been since 1994. He served as Head, Department of Economics and Management from 18.11.2010 to 03.12.2013 and he served as Dean, Faculty of Business Studies from 04.12.2013 to 03.12.2019.
Pushpanathan was invited as a keynote speaker for Environmental Advisory for Sustainable Trust (EAST), India. He has presented and published more than fifty research papers Nationally and Internationally. He was invited as a Guest Speaker in International Conference on Emerging paradigms in Management Research, Vivekananda Institute of Information and Management Studies - 2014, India, International Conference on emerging Trends in Science, Engineering, Business and Disaster Management- ICBDM 2014, Noorul Islam University, India, Further Invited as keynote speaker AVS College of Arts and Science, Attur Main Road, Salem, India on the title of “Green Marketing Practices in Business Firms” in 2019 and keynote speaker Government Arts and Science College for Women, Karimangalam, Tamilnadu, India on the title of “Emerging Issues in Environmental Sustainability of SME’s” in 2019. He chaired the Technical Sessions of the research conferences in nationally and internationally.
He served as a consultant in different research works which enhanced Poverty Alleviation and Livelihood Development Projects of war affected people in Northern Region. He has guided four Students of Master of Business Administration and evaluated more than 75 PhD thesis and serving as foreign examiner in abroad.
He published two volumes of books named “Directing of Employees," volume I in 2004 and volume II in 2015, core author of one volume of book name "Marketing Management in 2018 and Edited one volume of book "Entrepreneurial Marketing," in 2022
