Hey guys, I currently have an echo dot 3 and was considering getting a newer updated one. I see that there's the 5th gen dot (with or without clock) and the echo pop available locally. Any recommendations between the two or is there a new one slated for release later this year?

When looking at the Sonos devices in the Amazon Echo Control page (http://:8080/amazonechocontrol), they are listed as THIRD_PARTY_AVS_MEDIA_DISPLAY, and when clicking on the link in the Thing column, under Capabilities they do not have ALEXA_VOICE listed. For our Echo Dot devices ALEXA_VOICE is listed and for them also the speak command works.

Ok, I found what was wrong: although I created the amazon account on amazon.com, you still need to specify an US address here: Go to Manage Your Content and Devices and click the Preferences tab: ( ). There, in Country/Region settings specify an address. I used: Beverly Hills, 90210, LA, CA. (from the famous TV show). Then I started the initialization process for the Amazon Echo device, and now is working.
