This is why we have compiled the following post.

It will tell you how to keep your electric and water appliances clean and efficient. It will also tell you the warning signs you should not ignore for replacing the old appliances. So, read it carefully and make your Electricity Bill Payment actually smart.

Electric Appliances without Water:

1. Air Conditioners:

The air conditioners consume a lot of electricity. They put heavy stress on the utility bills. However, surviving without air conditioners in the hot summers is impossible. This is why it is extremely important to maintain them in good condition. Always ensure that they are serviced properly before using. Keep the air conditioner covered when they are not in use. Always use them with proper stabilizers. This will make sure that no power fluctuations happen during the use.

If you are going to buy a new air conditioner, check the power rating. Always buy power efficient appliances. They will consume lesser power as compared to the other models. Hence, they prove to be a better saving method on the Electricity Bill Payment in the long run.

2. Fans

Always buy good quality fans for they will serve you the best. You should know that the fans work best in ventilation. So, keep the windows and doors open as much as you can. It is not impossible to survive in fans only. If you want to use AC only at nights, you can do so. Keep the insect shields (Jali) closed and glass windows open. Cover them with light curtains and you can successfully create a cross-ventilation path for the fan air. The months of June, July and August are extremely hot. These are ones that consume the most electricity as well. Hence, use power smartly.

3. Refrigerators

Keep them organized and get them serviced. Ensure that you KNOW what you want out of it before you open it. When you open the fridge, the compressor gas that keeps things cool comes out. If you keep it open for very long, the appliance has to work hard for cooling the things. Hence, we advise you to first find out what you want and then open the fridge. We said that you should keep your fridge organized. This is because you will find things easily and in less time in an organized fridge. You should use the fridge as per the season. Check the thermostat settings and ensure to change it as per the seasons.

In summers, many people use chilled water from bottles. They drink the water while the fridge is open. This leads to the loss in temperature and fridge consumes more power. Hence, take the bottle out, drink the water; fill it again and store in the fridge.

Alternatively, you can use a large block of ice and put it some camper. The water will stay cool for a whole day and you don’t have to fill bottles as well.

Appliances with water:

1. Washing Machine:

It uses water as well as electricity. So, you have to be extra smart while using it. If you want to save on Water Bill Payment, wash big loads. Instead of washing clothes daily, wash them after 2 or 3 days. You will see that you will be able to form smart loads. For example, there will be many white and light coloured clothes to wash. Further, you will have 2 or more bed sheets as well. This way, you don’t have to run a cycle only for the white clothes and that too with less number of clothes in it.

Use the economy modes for the fully-automatic models with high-end settings. If you use a semi-automatic machine, don’t use driers in summer. Let the clothes dry in the sun. It will not take much time to dry clothes naturally. You can make big savings with such small steps.

2. Coolers:

If you are using coolers, don’t use the old ones with metal bodies. They spray water droplets as such and waste a lot of water. They also consume a lot of electricity. Hence, you should use the new fibre models that use power and water judiciously.

3. Dishwashers

If you use dishwashers, ensure that you fill them to the max. The same amount of power and water will be consumed for full and half loads. So, wait and let the utensils get collected. Further, don’t wash the burnt utensils in it. The burnt utensils will not be cleaned properly and you have to clean them later on with your hands. So, why waste water and effort twice?

So, follow these tips and enjoy savings that actually save power and water!!
