We will perform collaborative research in our lab using his sabbatical leave!
Dr. Fujimoto, Assistant Professor of Tobisu Laboratory, Osaka University, came to visit us with his doctoral thesis\(^^)/
A most welcome souvenir!
This fiscal year of Amaya-Lab has started !
So, we had an ohanami & welcome party for Mr. Ono~.
We took a walk along the Yamazaki River near the campus of the Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, where we have always visited for NMR measurements. We also ate onigiri (rice balls) near the river.
Let's work hard on our experiments this year too (*^-^*).
(The mask was off only when the photo was taken.)
Onigiri by "Nigiritate"🍙
It wasn't just the top, it was the filling inside. It was delicious!
I always start eating and then find I didn't take a picture...
Sharing some cherry blossom pictures!
It was fun to see cherry blossoms while taking a walk in the nice weather!
Mr. Imai, a 4th year student, presented the results of his graduation research.
Nice presentation (^^)!
Mr. Imai looking happy with the popcorn and Coke he received as a gift♪
Here are some of the newly installed equipment ( ^o^ )
1) Glove box
A glove box has been installed! It's very big, but can you feel it? It can be used with four hands in it! Reagents that are unstable to air and water can be used with ease (^^) You can use it by putting your hands in the glove box like this.
2) GPC
A thick GPC columns have been installed!
GPC is a chromatography that separates molecules depending on their size (volume).
(It doesn't look very thick in the picture... (´・ω・`))
The student room has been renovated!
The floor has been replaced, the new roll curtains and chairs have been installed.
We chose yellow for the floor, hoping for a brighter atmosphere☆.

Hmm...?
There's a sign of Christmas in the Amaya Lab, isn't there?
We participated in the NCU joint seminar of the organic chemistry labs.
The photo shows the self-introduction of our lab members (^^)/.
Here's a collection of bismuth crystals created by high school students! Thank you for your participation (^^)/.
We had a joint welcome party with Aoyagi Lab!
We had fun recreational activities such as gesture games, riddles with drawing, etc., while taking careful precautions against infection. Thank you to all the seniors and Professors who hosted, planned, and ran the party! It was fun!
We're going to do my best in the experiments tomorrow~! (^^)!
(Masks were removed only for the photo shoot.)
The character who appeared in the self-introduction
It could be that one...
Riddles with drawing
Can you answer what it is?
Here are the prizes that the Professors prepared for us!!!!
Thank you so much!
In addition to the original draft chamber, a fume hood has been installed on the lab bench in the synthesis lab. This is a device to exhaust the inside of the chamber. This will allow us to conduct organic synthesis experiments in a safe and comfortable environment without being bothered by solvents, toxic gases, odors, and dust!
Mr. Kanaru Akimoto (M2) presented his research at the Young Scientists' Seminar on Organic Synthesis, and won the Excellent Research Presentation Award! Congratulations!!
Today, at the Open Campus, Amaya Laboratory challenged with high school students to make bismuth crystals!
Here are the best crystal of the day (left: made by TI) and the bismuth medal (right)!
Thank you to everyone who participated in this event.
Thank you very much for many gifts!!!
They were delicious (^^)
The floor of the synthesis experiment room has been renewed (^^)/.
It is a cool gray floor that is chemical resistant and does not show dirt.
It matches the professor's office(^^♪
We celebrated KM's birthday with Bavarois.
We celebrated TI's birthday with a tart. It was voluminous and very satisfying (^^)/.
Congratulations(^^♪
We received sake from Prof. Amaya's former students.
Thank you very much! (TI)
Thank you all so much! I can't wait for the day when we can all drink together. (TA)
2021/4/15 Our Laboratory
New molecules are being synthesized here.
Evaporation system with pressure regulator. This pressure regulator is the own work of Dr. Shun Sakurai at Osaka University. He kindly donated it to us. It is very useful! Thank you!!
Analytical equipment room.
This is a student room. Office work is done here. At the moment, there is a student from the Amaya Lab (TI) and a student from the Aoyagi Lab (KM).
Of course, there is a refrigerator (^^). (TI)
2021/4/1 Amaya Laboratory at Nagoya City University was established
Professor Toru Amaya from the Tobisu Laboratory at Osaka University has come! Pictures with our lab's signboard.
(We took off the mask only when we took the photo.) (TI)
