Membership Benefits

Why should you become an AMATYC Member?

There are several AMATYC Membership Types, including reduced-rate memberships for adjunct faculty and retirees. But the most popular membership type is the Individual Regular Membership, which is available to any full or part-time teacher of mathematics or anyone interested in two-year college mathematics education.

The Individual Regular Membership includes:

  • Reduced registration rates for our flagship event, the AMATYC Annual Conference.

  • Access to myAMATYC, AMATYC's new online community.

  • A subscription to the AMATYC News. Published four times annually, the AMATYC News informs two-year college mathematics faculty about items of national and regional interest.

  • A subscription to AMATYC's peer-reviewed journal, the MathAMATYC Educator. Published multiple times each year, the MathAMATYC Educator prints scholarly articles about the teaching of mathematics in two-year colleges. It also contains interesting editorial, problem-solving, and book review sections. The submission of manuscripts to the editor is encouraged.

  • Access to AMATYC's standards documents, Crossroads, Beyond Crossroads, and the new AMATYC IMPACT and all of AMATYC's Position Statements, Guidelines, and Proceedings from past AMATYC Annual Conferences.

  • Early registration for AMATYC webinars. If you cannot attend the live webinar, you can visit the archive to view recordings of all previous webinars organized by topic.

  • Access to all past tests of the Student Mathematics League. The Student Mathematics League, founded in 1970, is a popular national mathematics competition. The League has grown to more than 165 colleges in more than 35 states involving over 8,000 two-year college mathematics students.

  • Opportunities for involvement in grants and research focused on the mathematics taught in the first two years of college.

  • Participation in various special-interest academic committees and ANets (Academic Networks). AMATYC Committees meet at the AMATYC Annual Conference, and members interact via email and newsletters throughout the year.
