Location: Kelana Jaya
Type: Condominium
Size: 928 sqft
Scope: Design
An example of how minimal can also be luxurious, and how luxurious does not always have to appear over the top, finding the right balance between both these style to design a space that is simplistic yet exudes an air of class.
The design focuses on pulling clean lines to bring out the minimalistic vibes and playing with lights for that hidden element to keep the base design minimalistic but still interesting all at the same time. The colour palette combines a classy cream colour with wood elements and glossy marble for that classic luxurious appeal and carefully placed black features to tie in the minimalistic look. The result is a seamless combination of both styles that appears cohesive and soothing.
As space is rather limited in this house and the owners has a need for a highly functional space, every corner is designed with function in mind, whilst ensuring that design is not compromised. A few examples are such as the living space being the main focal point of the home, houses a feature TV wall that blends together with a display cabinet for the owner's whisky collection and a functional foyer table for the owners to easily place their keys or freshen up before they leave the house. Although the wet kitchen space is a bit small, we did not overlook it and gave it a little twist by installing the tiles at a 45 degree angle rather than the typical straight placement to add an interesting take on it. The spare bedroom, currently made as a study, is also designed to be able to be converted into a bedroom in the future when needed, ensuring that every corner of the house is well thought of and taken care of, creating a home that is perfect for the needs and lifestyle of the owners.
