My research sits at the intersection of wildlife ecology, environmental justice, and geospatial science. I use GIS, spatial modeling, and community-engaged science to explore urgent questions about species movement, conservation planning, ecosystem change, and equitable access to resources. Across all of my work, I center spatial thinking as a tool for ecological understanding and social transformation.
The subpages highlight many of my current research interests, focal species, study systems, and different approaches to these questions/topics. It is constantly evolving (a good problem to have!) because I have several research projects at various stages (writing manuscripts, analyzing data, collecting data, developing new ideas, etc.).
Please also check GoogleScholar for the most current list of publications.
I am excited to chat about possible projects and collaborations building off these ideas! Please contact me if you are interested (funkepunkemonke@gmail.com).
