Hi! I'm Amanda Suzzi (she/they), a GIS, quant bio, and stats instructor and a huge fan of cold brew and listening to Christmas music all year round!
I'm a professor at Antioch University. My research uses a combination of in situ and satellite remote sensing to study terrestrial, freshwater, and marine coastal habitats. I also research Environmental Justice, Spatial Ecology, Conservation, and Science Education.
Originally from Providence, Rhode Island, I received a B.S. in Environmental Science from Franklin Pierce University, a Masters of Geography - GIST, and a PhD in Environmental Conservation from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. I am passionate about education and outreach and have worked with K-12 teachers to develop environmental education lesson plans and am currently running mapping workshops for local students.
When I'm not teaching, you can find me spending time with family and friends, going to flea markets, playing roller derby, baking, and staying healthy. I give keynote talks, provide workshops and webinars to educational organizations, clubs, and groups, and write about tips for graduate students.
