I have always enjoyed working with learners and seeing the lightbulb go off when they have learned a new skill or concept. As a former educator, I dedicated over 20 years to education as an elementary school teacher, dyslexia center director, and undergraduate/graduate online instructor.
As the director of a dyslexia center, I spent time observing and analyzing the strengths and weaknesses of tutor trainees so that I could determine if they would be effective tutors of students with dyslexia. These experiences began my path and interest in instructional design.
I enrolled in the Applied Instructional Design Academy (AIDA) to improve my skills in the areas of adult learning and authoring tools. I have always loved working with curriculum and assessment tools. My experiences in AIDA have given me the opportunity to improve my designing and evaluating of eLearning experiences.
When I am not working on instructional design projects, I enjoy spending time with my family, cruising, and reading.
