I have always helped my dad with things since I was very little. When my dad took classes for decorating cakes, I was about 10 years old. For my older sister's 12th birthday, my dad made a castle cake. After that I wanted to learn how to decorate cakes too. I started helping my dad a year after he started his decorating class, and he started to teach me what he new.
I started to practice and decorate cakes for my sibling and parents each year.
I even practiced on cookies!
I also made cakes for school. This time I was practicing making different frostings that my dad taught me how to do. This cake for Pi day was a whipped frosting.
I started to get better and better
My dad decided to teach me something harder... Molding fondant
Since my sister liked the Eiffel Tower, I made a bunch of towers for her. (I made a bunch of towers until I got It right)
I made this cake for my bowling birthday party
This cake was just for fun, I love sprinkles. (My family actually calls me sprinkles for a nick name)
My dad did not teach me how to make this cake, I learned by myself. (He has never done an Ice-cream cake and I wanted to make one) With this cake I had to learn how to do a lot more then I knew how to do. This was the longest time I have ever spent on a cake, because I had to keep putting it in the freezer. I also had to be fast in decorating the cake because every five minutes the cake had to be put back in the freezer.
I made this one for a person at my mom's work.
There is a lot to decorating cakes, you have to make the cake, make the frosting, mix the colors, get the right tips, and of course clean up after.
Even though its a lot of work I love doing it
I have done a lot more cakes then what I've shown you, but you get the point. I love to make and decorate cakes. In the future I plan on taking a decorating class like my dad did, to learn much more.
