I am an Assistant Professor at the Department of Political Science at Aarhus University.

My research is on the civil servants' roles and the functioning of the ministries. Civil servants operate at the critical intersection of politics and administration. Their advice and support to ministers significantly shape political decisions, thereby influencing society and citizens’ daily lives.

In my research, I delve into the practices and roles of civil servants in ministries—from lower ranking civil servants to senior civil servants—drawing on theories of roles, behavior, and skills. Concurrently, I study 'the executive triangle' understood as the relationship between minister(s), permanent secretary and ministerial advisors. In my latest research project, I focus on how the behaviors and reflections of individual civil servants can illuminate the inner workings of Slotsholmen, Denmark's political and administrative hub. By employing theories on coordination, organization, and hierarchy, I aim to uncover the mechanisms that drive decision-making and collaboration within this complex environment.
