At the beginning of the year - How to a message home to caring adults with low literacy.

"I used to have people lined up out my door because the adults knew I was the one who would listen and understand. I would never humiliate them by presenting papers to read or having a blaming tone. Everything was on purpose - the lighting, food, my outfit, and the procedure. Students were a part of the night and they knew exactly what to expect. And I had Arnie's poster on the door.
