The Altura Park Neighborhood Association (APNA) is the volunteer non-profit organization that enables residents and other property owners adjacent the park to monitor and influence its upkeep, work with local officials to promote public safety, stay abreast of municipal and commercial developments in the area, organize outdoor social events, and generally be acquainted with one another. Hello and welcome to the APNA website,
As the current President of the Altura Park Neighborhood Association I would like to thank all of you for paying your annual dues and generous donations. You made it possible for all of our members, friends and neighbors to enjoy the many activities and events we held throughout the year and to fund the upcoming programs. With your donations, here are the events we were able to have and what we have planned for the rest of 2023;
Line the park with luminarias on Christmas Eve
Food Truck and Music on Thursdays in the summer
Our own mini Balloon Fiesta in September, w/Breakfast food truck and free coffee
Balloon Glow in December w/ hot chocolate and cookies
Easter Egg Hunt
Ice Cream Social at our annual meeting
We are currently planning our events for 2026. Farmers Market and Craft Fair are two we are considering. We are always looking for ideas, so please let us know if you have an event you would like the association to have in the future.
The board is also looking for ways to make our neighborhood a safer place. We have a Neighborhood Watch program for each block within our boundaries. We are looking for just a couple of Block Captains. If you are interested please send us an email or call me directly at 734-658-5577. It is a wonderful way to get to know your neighbors and to look out for each other. It also gives you someone to call if you see something suspicious or someone in need.
Thank you,
Neal Spero, President APNA
The December Balloon Glow was a tremendous success and enjoyed by many. The weather was perfect to watch the balloons and to have a cup of hot chocolate and a biscochito.
The luminarias are always a wonderful site on Christmas Eve.
Please help support your neighborhood
