Artist & Academician
Kurma Nadhan was born 24th July 1985 in Visakhapatanam, Andhra Pradesh. In 2007 he completed his bachelors degree in print-making from Andra Pradesh. In 2009 he achieved his post-graduation in printmaking from the Faculty of Fine Arts at the M.S. University of Baroda. He received a national scholarship and the Vasudev fellowship to support his artistic education. In his work he reflects on human daily experiences recording events as a diarist. Articulating in particular the dominant impact of the surroundings within the span of a human life, from childhood to adulthood.
As he reflects on daily events which are often mundane and ordinary he provokes within himself the more fundamental questions in life such as, who am I ? and where is my destiny? As an artist he works with his medium to explore these questions in the hope of penetrating the truth and for himself determining a sense of meaning and purpose. His inspiration in his work stems from the continuous exploration of these themes with the desire to understand with more depth the essential and important elements which serve humanity.
