The Election
I am extremely thankful to everyone who has voted in this election. 72% turnout, most in the opening days, is incredible to see. I also appreciate the candidates who decided to run for seats in this election and I would like to preemptively congratulate the victors. However, I have a goal of turning out over 80% by the time this election ends at 2:00 pm on Saturday 24. That high turnout will be a major point in our nation’s history, demonstrating our capacity for real democracy.
I would also like to thank everyone who made their voices heard through the referendum. Of course, the closest question is the one with the most choices, the flags. Currently, my preferenced tricolour striped diagonal is sitting at 50% support, and through the Alsane Elections Office I can confirm that a flag will be considered victorious if it has more votes than any other flag, rather than a majority. The AEO has also confirmed that the other four questions will be victorious regardless of future votes, meaning that Alsann from here out has a new coat of arms, national fauna and flora, military, war and battle flags and universal approval voting.
Federal Council
We will hold the inaugural meeting of the first Federal Council on Saturday 24, between the close of the election and 6 pm. This meeting will be used to confirm the election of and welcome the Federal members, to confirm the referendum results, to make inaugural speeches and to formalise the adoption of items in the referendum. The Federal Council will not go into session again until mid-January, to allow for the holiday season and for my expedition to South Flinders.
Thank you,
Officer-General Kalan Cameron del Kersika
