How it works
AlpinCup Ski Race
The AlpinCup is a semi-competitive event that allows model ski resorts around the world to participate by showing multiple videos of a ski race at their resort. The resorts put on their best showing for this event and the videos will be made public for everyone to vote on. In the 2020/21 AlpinCup, we will have many rounds. We ask resorts not to spend more than 30€ on this event, but they may spend more if desired.
Judging Round:
The Judges of the 2020/21 AlpinCup (Passumpsic Valley and The Ski Village) will grade each video using a select score sheet found on the Judges Score Sheet page. For this round, resorts will put together a video that is between 90 seconds and 10 minutes long. The video will give an overview of the resort as well as a ski race. After careful consideration, the judges will release scores.
Ballot Rounds:
After the Judging Round, resorts will compete in a bracket system. In these rounds resorts will be paired with another resort who scored similar to them in the Judging Round. Resorts may use their video from the Judging Round in this section of the cup or they can make a new video. The videos will be released to the public for voting. The resort that has the most votes of the pair will move on to the next round. The resort that has the lower number of votes will be eliminated from the competition. This process will continue until there is one winner selected.
Video Submissions.
All resorts must submit their video by March 5th at 11:59pm MST. In order to submit, please send the video via e-mail to info.alpincip@gmail.com OR send it to the AlpinCup instagram account over direct message. Resorts are asked not to put their videos on YouTube, Instagram, or any other platform until March 21st, 2021.
