By downloading, installing, or using Al-Murshid, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
1. About the App
Al-Murshid (المرشد) is a free Islamic companion app that provides prayer times, Quran reading, adhkar (remembrance), duas (supplications), Islamic calendar, qibla direction, and nearby mosque finder. The app is provided "as is" for personal, non-commercial use.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By using Al-Murshid, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. We may update these terms at any time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
3. Prayer Times Disclaimer
Prayer times provided by Al-Murshid are calculated using astronomical algorithms and are intended as a guide only. Times may vary slightly from your local mosque or official authority. We strongly recommend:
Verifying prayer times with your local mosque or national Islamic authority
Not relying solely on the app for the beginning and ending of fasting (Suhoor/Iftar)
Understanding that calculation methods vary by region and school of thought
Al-Murshid is not responsible for any missed prayers or incorrect fasting times resulting from the use of the app.
4. Qibla Direction Disclaimer
The qibla compass relies on your device's magnetometer sensor. Accuracy depends on your device hardware, magnetic interference, and calibration. Always calibrate your compass by moving your device in a figure-8 pattern before use. Al-Murshid is not responsible for inaccurate qibla readings.
5. Religious Content Disclaimer
Al-Murshid provides Islamic content including Quranic text, hadith references, adhkar, and duas sourced from widely accepted Islamic references. However:
The app is not a substitute for consultation with qualified Islamic scholars
Content is provided for educational and spiritual purposes only
We strive for accuracy but cannot guarantee that all content is free from error
If you find any incorrect content, please report it to us immediately
The app does not represent any specific Islamic school of thought, sect, or organization
6. Use of the App
You agree to use Al-Murshid only for lawful, personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not:
Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app
Use the app for any commercial purpose without written permission
Redistribute, resell, or sublicense the app
Use automated systems to access or scrape the app
Attempt to bypass any security features or ad-serving mechanisms
7. Advertising
Al-Murshid is a free app supported by advertising through Google AdMob. By using the app, you acknowledge that:
Advertisements will be displayed within the app
Google AdMob may collect data as described in our Privacy Policy
Ad content is served by Google and we do not control which specific ads are shown
If you see an inappropriate ad, please report it to us and to Google
8. Third-Party Services
Al-Murshid uses third-party services including OpenWeatherMap, OpenStreetMap, BigDataCloud, TimeAPI.io, and Google AdMob. These services have their own terms of use and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or policies of these services.
9. Intellectual Property
The Al-Murshid app design, code, and original content are the property of the developer. Third-party content is used under their respective licenses:
Quran text — Tanzil.net (Creative Commons Attribution 3.0)
Prayer times — Adhan package (MIT License)
Weather data — OpenWeatherMap (CC BY-SA 4.0)
Map data — OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL)
Fonts — Google Fonts (SIL Open Font License)
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
Al-Murshid is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied
We do not guarantee the accuracy of prayer times, qibla direction, weather data, or any other information
We are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of the app
We are not responsible for any loss of data stored locally on your device
We are not responsible for any actions taken based on information provided by the app
11. Updates and Availability
We may update, modify, or discontinue the app at any time without prior notice. We do not guarantee continuous or uninterrupted availability. Features may be added, changed, or removed in future updates.
12. Termination
You may stop using Al-Murshid at any time by uninstalling the app. We reserve the right to terminate or restrict access to the app if these terms are violated.
