Little Red the musical
This was the first musical in the new performing arts complex. It was also the very first musical produced and directed by the theater director, Mr. Michael Heu. Little Red is a fairy tale. Written by Anthony Aguilar and Oscar T. Basulto, this retelling is set in the present, but it is not the real world. Instead, it is set in a skewed version of Los Angeles and Hollywood, with nods to the punk rock scene of the 70s and 80s.

One of the big highlights of the production was when the Little Red playwright, Anthony Aguilar, humbly introduced himself to Mr. Heu. Mr. Aguilar drove down from Los Angeles to see the show. The cast was very excited to meet and speak with him.
Trills and Thrills Music Festival
The excitement began for the Hoover Choir students when they checked in with the festival staff and presented them with two original scores of each selection to be performed. Under the direction of Choir Director Mr. Mark Gonzales, the young singers warmed up and when their performance began, the Adjudicators provided each ensemble with a running evaluation with recorded comments.
The last time the Hoover choir competed in this festival was 2019. This year, the choir scored an 87 which was considered "Excellent." Upon completion of their performance, the choir enjoyed a fun-filled afternoon to enjoy the rides, games and attraction at Knott's Berry Farm. This was part of the festival and a pleasant conclusion to the festival experience and a memorable culmination of all of the hours and effort invested by Mr. Gonzales and his students
The Hoover Music Department is open to all students on Hoover's campus. A majority of the students are in the ALMA academy.
