I competed in the St. Mary's County Science and Engineering Fair Jan 28, 2023 through JAFCTC.
This experience was incredibly rewarding as I was able to share my project with people in the local community. I was able to hear their ideas on future improvement for the product and answer any questions they had about it. I gained experience talking in front of crowds by showing my project to a lot of different people throughout the day.
'Best Presentation' and 'Outstanding Engineer' are among some of the awards won at the science fair (+ $50 in cash prizes!!)
Then I went on to compete in the regionals science fair located in PG County where four counties competed with their project. (3/15/23)
Awards:
-2nd Place in Embedded Systems Category
-Howard B Owens Award (Best overall display and presentation)
-MIT Club of Washington Award
There is not as much documentation of this day as the entire science fair lasted from ~8am to 10pm. As exhausting as this event was, it was incredibly rewarding as I gained tons of experience in presentation skills and learned how to be a more effective communicator.
