In early months of arguing about King Arthur balance, Justin D. Jacobson, head of Restoration Games, often would weigh in and defend King Arthur's design. Eventually he admitted there is a bad game feel of having your ability able to be canceled. He did not suggest this change, but when it was suggested he made comments that it was likely close to what it might have been if it were done over.
This variant's strength is its simplicity. It's weakness is that this allows for a King Arthur player to just keep mashing attacks BOOSTED with NOBLE SACRIFICE. This card has a BOOST value of 3, meaning King Arthur is all but guaranteed that 9 damage because it will always go back to his hand. Still, simplicity can be king when introducing house rules for characters.
