Further to confirmation of the date at last year’s Incumbents’ Conference, I am delighted to write on behalf of the Dean and Chapter to extend to you and your parishioners an invitation to join us at Christ Church on Wednesday 30 September 2026 for the Corporate Communion. This biennial event sees parishioners from all eighty of our livings enjoy an opportunity for an evening of worship, fellowship and hospitality with one another. The timetable is as follows:
16:30 – 17:00 Arrival and Tea, Great Hall
17:00 – 17:40 Talk, Great Hall
18:05 – 19:00 Choral Eucharist, Cathedral
19:05 – 19:25 Drinks Reception, Cathedral Garden (or Cathedral, if wet)
19:30 – 21:00 Dinner, Great Hall
21:15 Carriages
We should very much like to welcome guests from far and wide, however, we appreciate that it will be easier for those coming from Oxford, Gloucester or Hereford dioceses than, say, Leeds, Rochester and Truro! There will be a modest charge of £17.50 a head towards the cost of the dinner.
To assist with marketing, we have once again produced a simple A5 flyer suitable for inserting into orders of service, as well as a poster (A3 or A4, laminated or unlaminated) for noticeboards, and draft text for inclusion in your newsletter. Please let me know how many copies of the two documents you would like, and we’ll post them to you.
Regrettably, neither accommodation nor parking will be available on this occasion.
