Hi! My name is Christina Allred. I am your school counselor here at McLeansville Elementary. I am so excited to be working with you all this 2025 - 2026 school year! I have been in education for 15 years! I have taught middle school English Language Arts and Exceptional Children, grades 6-8 for 12 years. As your school counselor, I am excited to help your students grow socially and emotionally each day.
The Define component of the ASCA National Model includes both student and professional standards that aid in the school counseling program. The student standards include mindsets and behaviors that every student needs for academic, career, and social/emotional success. The professional standards include ethical and professional standards/competencies for school counselors to maximize a school counseling program.
The Deliver component includes the services and activities that school counselors provide for students in the school counseling program. Direct and indirect services are included in a comprehensive school counseling program. The ASCA recommends that school counselors should spend at least 80% of their time in direct and indirect services.
The Manage component provides the tools used to focus and plan the school counseling program. This includes assessments that aid in guiding and implementing the school counseling program that reflects student needs.
School counselors must assess their school counseling program to determine its effectiveness. The assess component includes the use of collecting and analyzing data from the school counseling program to drive future delivery of services. Then, results and data are shared with all relevant stake holders.
