Mind in Motion
Wednesdays 3:15pm
Starting Feb 4th
This dance class full of fun and engaging activities aimed to address neurological deficits. Research shows regular participation in dance classes can increase balance, strength, coordination and community. We welcome all abilities including individuals recovering from a stroke or brain injury, progressive disease such as Parkinson’s or MS, and other deficits. Adults of all ages and a family member or friend are encouraged to attend!
Class is led by former professional ballet dancer and occupational therapist, Katie Kirwan. She draws on her career as a dance artist and her work in neurological rehabiliation to bring a class that is both beneficial for recovery, but also captures the pure joy of dance.
Attire: comfortable clothes that are easy to move in. Supportive shoes or jazz shoes. Socks, flip flops and bare feet are discouraged for safety reasons.
