WHO: Any high school band interested in another performance opportunity that they can get instant feedback from as well as growth as performers.
WHY: The All-Iowa Concert Band Festival is a unique, non-competitive performance opportunity for Iowa High School concert bands. It offers an educational growth experience for everyone involved: students, directors and audiences. Each band receives expert feedback from a panel of three nationally known clinicians from throughout the United States and a local clinician. Each band's director will also receive personal feedback from a clinician on stage in regard to their conducting. Bands get to experience the festival not only as performers but as audience members, too. This teaches young musicians proper audience etiquette and pushes them to become better active listeners and evaluators, encouraging the discovery of their own musical tastes and interpretations. This is a truly educational first experience for your students.
