Numazu is located in Shizuoka Prefecture, which is with the Kuroshio. Kuroshio provides Shirasu, Sakura Ebi Shrimp, Bonito, Eel, and other seafood. There is Numazu Port and fresh seafood is directly going to restaurants and it saves fresh and delicious food like sushi or seafood rice bowl. Shirasu and Sakuraebi shrimp are popular souvenirs from Numazu as rice crackers that are made from them.
Sweets
Numazu Port has a favorite sweet which is "Numazu Shinkai Pudding". Numazu Port faces Suruga Bay which is the deepest bay in Japan. This pudding expresses that deep ocean. Numazu Shinkai Pudding is made one by one using local foods made from Shizuoka or Numazu.
Tea
Shizuoka Prefecture is famous for tea along with Kagoshima Prefecture. In Numazu, there is a tea that is made from tea leaves grown at the foot of Mt. Ashitaka called"Numaccha". It is very delicious with mild taste.
Bread
In Numazu there is "Noppo Pan". Noppo Pan is a sweet bread that market since 1978. It is also some savory bread such as yakisoba, gyoza, etc which are recommended for the hungry. Noppo Pan is a very popular soul food in Shizuoka Prefecture and it is the bread goodness of Shizuoka Prefecture aimed at local production for local consumption.
Characters
In fact, Numazu has no mascot character. However, there are many characters in Shizuoka Prefecture such as "Unapon" and "Shippei", which are created from things related to Shizuoka. Therefore, charms with these characters are cute and one of the memory so make great souvenirs.
