I participated in a holiday caroling visit at Farmington Square Assisted & Memory Care with NHS club where we sang Christmas and seasonal songs for residents as we moved from building to building. Spending time with the seniors, even through short conversations and shared music, made me more aware of how meaningful simple interactions can be. Many residents including those in memory care, responded positively to the familiarity of the songs which highlighted how music can be grounding and comforting. This experience reminded me that being present and taking the time to connect especially during the holiday season can make a real difference in reducing isolation and supporting emotional well-being among older adults.

Through music and brief interactions, we engaged with seniors to spread holiday cheer, foster social connection, and support residents’ emotional well-being, including those in memory care. This experience emphasized the value of presence, compassion, and community-based service in creating meaningful moments for older adults during the holiday season.
