There are a few things you can be aware of before and after your session to make the most of your experience.
Illness Policy
Do Not Receive Treatment if You Are Ill. It is not recommended that anyone experiencing symptoms related to infection such as cold or flu receive bodywork or massage therapy. Any active infection is contraindicated with massage which would also include issues like dental or urinary tract infections. Massage increases circulation and could increase the severity of infection. It is best to wait to receive any body work until your symptoms have resolved and you have been symptom free for at least 72 hours prior to your session.
If you are sick with any symptoms including fever, cough, sore throat, vomiting, or diarrhea please make contact right away to cancel your session. If it is past the 24 hour cancellation window, your fee will be waived. If you are not sure what to regarding any matters around illness, you are welcome to reach out to me to clarify.
Illness Screening
Before beginning your session, your practitioner will perform a screening for covid and other contagious illness. This practice will vary depending on current community circumstances and rates. Screening may include questions regarding your current well being and more in depth questions regarding exposure, any current symptoms, and a temperature reading. Clients are also asked to wash their hands or use hand sanitizer prior to start of the session. If client is found to have positive active symptoms of infection including fever and symptoms mentioned, the session will be cancelled and client will be charged full price of service.
Cancellation & No Show Policy
If receiving in studio services, please refer to our office policies for details.
For mobile services, I require at least 24 hours notice for cancellations to not incur any fees. Cancellations can be done online or by contacting me directly by email or phone. All cancelled appointments will be confirmed with you. Appointments that are cancelled with more than 24 hours notice will not result in any charges and you are welcome to reschedule at your convenience.
Clients who cancel an appointment with less than 24 hours notice or no show will be charged the full price of the session. If you have made a pre-payment for the session, the fee will be deducted from this payment.
Please be present 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment time for initial visits If you are not present and I have not had contact with you after 5 minutes past your scheduled time I will reach out via the contact info you have provided. If you have not arrived and I have not had contact from you 15 minutes past your scheduled appointment time, it will be considered a “no show” and you will be charged the full price of the session.
Clients who do not show up for a scheduled appointment will be charged the full price of the session.
In the case of a legitimate emergency or inclement weather that impacts your ability to attend your appointment, fees can be waived at the practitioner's discretion.
Before Care
Review your specific recommendations based on the session type and your needs which will be emailed to you.
Begin preparation with a restful night's sleep and calm time leading up to your visit. Pause and reflect about your upcoming session and the positive impact it will have on you. Reflect on what it has taken to make your appointment happen.
Eat regularly that day. Plan your last meal to be complete at least 90 minutes before your session time.
If you are receiving any massage or body work, arrive for your appointment with clean skin, hands and feet. Avoid wearing fragrances and cosmetics. You may want to remove jewelry or hair clips to reduce distractions and increase your comfort.

After Care
Each client has their own unique experience when receiving massage therapy and bodywork. Wellness practices like meditation and breathwork can have a powerful effect as well. Be gentle with yourself through the healing process.
Stay hydrated and avoid caffeine and sugary beverages. You may want to eat "light" and include meals high in nutrients and minerals.
If possible, plan some down time after your session. Give yourself space to take a break or rest if you need. Try to limit physically strenuous or mentally and emotionally taxing activities.
Have you scheduled your next session? Develop your personal care practice as you create a routine that works for you.
