I don’t know why everyone LOVED the movie. Yes, it was cute. Yes, the choreographed song was great. Yes, there was some nostalgia, but beyond that???
Barbie Land was spot on. The dolls, the houses, yes! But the second they came over to the real world, there were too many plot holes. There was no point to Will Farrell or his men. He said that something terrible would happen in the real world if Barbie didn’t go back. NOTHING happened. Why did he follow them back? What was the point to that? He helped nothing, he changed nothing.
The tween girl? She had a major attitude for about 5 minutes, then never said another word. The mother/daughter relationship showed no growth but was magically better.
The mom? Fine. She served a purpose for Barbie.
How did all the Barbies get brainwashed?
And Barbie’s big change? She wanted to have purpose in her life. She never once mentioned wanting a family -having a child, having a mother. But the first thing she does is go to the gynecologist?
I’m not a hater. I didn’t hate the movie. It was cute. But heartfelt and life-changing? “Sobbing”? I didn’t get any of that.

Do you know the number one reason why people don't blog? They don't know what to write about! I am they. And as I sit here trying to figure out what to blog about... I've got nothing.
About three episodes of Suits have passed since my opening paragraph, and now I know what to write about. BOOKS! It makes sense since this is an author website and all.
The books pictured above are all of the ones that I have read so far this year. To me, it's A LOT. But unfortunately I am behind schedule. I'm thinking that I was a bit ambitious with setting a FIFTY-TWO book goal for this year... especially since I only read ONE book in 2022. I had plans to catch up this summer, but instead I spent two months setting up my Teacher Pay Teacher store. I still have three weeks until I am back to work, so I'll see how many more I can get through. Any suggestions?
Most of the books that I have read are just random ones that jumped out at me at the library. Some of them have been pretty good and some have been disappointing. I loved Pug Actually. It was a super cute rom-com told by the dog's POV. Ain't Misbehaving was a breath of fresh air. It was a clean romance set in my hometown!
I haven't quite figured out Janet Evanovich. The first one of hers that I read was The Heist. I really liked that one - it was a mixture of Mission Impossible and Blacklist. I was pretty disappointed when I couldn't find Book 2 in the series, so I picked up the first book of another one of her series. It was TERRIBLE! I forced myself to get through the whole thing, but I have no desire to read the rest of that series. I tried again to find the book after The Heist, but it still wasn't available, so I tried a third series of her with One for the Money. That one was ok, but a huge time commitment since it has THIRTY books in that series.
