We are not currently performing or meeting outside (posted April 2026), but we have classes indoors at College Hill Recreation Center (more information above & below).
When we go outside, the location will mostly be more on the central/west and north side of greater Cincinnati, often along the Mill Creek. This site and Facebook pages will be updated when they are scheduled. Most outdoor classes and rehearsals will be donation based, with a suggested optional fee (all indoor classes require a fee).
Class Descriptions
Beginner Tap Dance class is for adults of all ages (and mature teens) who have never taken a Tap Dance class, or who already know most basic tap steps and have some tap dance experience and want to go at a slower pace. The basic tap steps are practiced and put into short combinations and dances. The Tap style taught is Musical Theater & swing/jazz dance based and mostly uses music from swing era standards, musicals, and jazz/blues. This class is offered at the 60 & Better program at the JCC on Tuesdays 2pm, and Wednesdays 11am at College Hill Recreation Center (must register in advance). Tap shoes are not needed for your first class/month.
Intermediate Tap Dance class is for adults of all ages (and mature teens) who have tap basics down and would like to work on more difficult steps and more complicated choreography that moves more quickly. This class takes the first steps beyond the Beginner level, and choreography will be taught and mastered over several months. This is also a good class to join for anyone who previously tap danced at intermediate/advanced levels and wants to get back into it slowly. The style taught is Musical Theater based and mostly uses music from swing era standards, musicals and jazz/blues. Please note: the Monday 9:30am class as College Hill Recreation Center includes more physically demanding steps as well as more complex choreography, as compared to the Tuesday 1pm class (60 & Better) by the same name.
Flow Workout (Wednesday 9:30-10:45am) is a modern dance based mixed level follow-along style class that will focus on mobility, flexibility, strength and tension release. Class will consist of floor work (bring a mat), barre, and center flow. The movement style is based on classical modern dance technique and conditioning mainly in the Duncan style. This class is for all ages of adults (+ teens 14 and up) who want to move better and can accommodate all experience levels, including new beginners. Please bring a mat (yoga-Pilates type or similar), though there is usually one to borrow if you forget.
Modern Dance Technique, a mixed level class for adults (+ teens 14 and up), explores modern dance technique based on the Limon & Duncan styles. Participants learn modern dance movement combinations that can be done in simpler or more challenging ways to accommodate a variety of experiences, ages, and levels of fitness. This dance style uses the entire body and explores how to move smoothly and to release tension. All levels, including beginners, are welcome.
Please note that this class is on hiatus, and no days/times are currently scheduled.
Modern Dance Choreography - Global Water Dances, will mainly focus on Global Water Dances choreography and ideas for GWD, which provides community performance opportunities. No one who participates in the class is obliged to perform, but those who do wish to perform will need to attend these sessions on a regular basis. This choreography time is for students with dance experience who can catch on quickly, and is not designed for new beginners. Limon & Duncan technique modern dance styles will be featured.
Please note that this class is on hiatus, and no days/times are currently scheduled.
