Aims and Objective

To promote the establishment and development of libraries, library movements, LIS education and serve the society at large.

To enhance the status of library professionals and their service conditions.

To secure equality and justice to all the underprivileged Library Professionals in India.

To affiliate any library associations and extend cooperation with National and International Organization having similar objectives.

To organize Professional activities for the overall development of library professionals.

To publish and provide the platform for publications related to library and information science.

To suggest the concerned authorities about the formulation of standards, norms etc. for the betterment of the library professionals.

To raise funds and accept grants, subsidies, gifts and endowments etc. for the furtherance of the aims and objectives of the association and to collect funds for the association by way of membership fees, donations, contribution etc.

To acquire, by purchase, lease or otherwise, all kinds of property, movable and immovable, and to construct and maintain buildings thereon for the purposes of the association and to improve, develop, manage, sell, lease, mortgage or otherwise deal with all or any part of the properties of the Association.

To invest surplus funds of the association, not immediately required, in such a manner as may from time to time be determined by the Executive Council of the Association.
