Ali Faraji-Rad is an Assistant Professor of Marketing at the Robert H. Smith School of Business, University of Maryland, College Park. He uses behavioral experiments as well as deep-learning-based methods to study how feelings shape decisions. His work examines the feelings of uncertainty consumers bring into their decisions, the computational measurement of emotional expertise from natural language, and the role of emotions in AI agents and in consumers' relationships with them. His research has appeared in a number of journals, including the Journal of Consumer Research, Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of Consumer Psychology, and Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes.
