The final sketch, the car is mean't to have a larger back and a skinner front copying the formula of most modern race cars. The more cutouts there are for where the airflow gets stuck, the more aerodynamic advantage it has.

Cars usually are skinner in the front allowing the air to go throughout the car faster. Things like the back wing and front wing allow for air to flow through decreasing the drag.
