I have been working as a lifegaurd since July of 2021 and am still employed at the YMCA. I got certafied in Syracuse in June of 2021 and I love being a lifeguard. I was recertified at the YMCA in March 2023. Working at the YMCA has taught me independence and responsibility.
Lifeguard at Dryden High School

I work as a lifegaurd at my high school during the fall and winter for swim season. I started in September of 2021 and ended in March 2022 and am started again in September 2022 and ended in March 2023.

At this pool I lifeguarded but I mainly taught swim lessons to kids under the age of 10 and it was one of my favorite jobs just because the people and kids where extremly nice. I learned a lot of patience and kindess there. I started in June 2022 and it is only a summer job but I am returning for the summer of 2023.
Veterinarian Assistant and Janitor at Cayuga Pet Hospital:

I work at Cayuga Pet Hospital during my holiday breaks. My mom owns the practice and is a veternarian. I have been working there since 2019. I started as a janitor and would fill in when their janitor went on vacation. I have worked up to a veternary assistant where I help the Veternarian, hold animals and work with owners. I still do the occasional mowing of the lawns or painting the rooms. I've learned a lot there and its where my want to become a veternarian has come from.
New Visions Tompkins Seneca Tioga BOCES in Life Science at Cornell University:
-Started at New Visions in September 2022-June 2023. It is an advanced program in the biological sciences for high school seniors.
-In New Visions I took Scientific Research and Enviromental Food Science courses to further my education on agriculture.
-I participated in rotations in Cornell College of Veternary Medicine observing various veternary procedures and conducting a case study and research project on my own.
Dryden High School:
-Started in September 2019 and I am set to graduate in June 2023 with an Honors Diploma.
-Outside of my required classes I took forensics, college physics, social media, leadership, AP psych, Spanish 1,2 and 3.
FFA-
-I was apart of the Future Farmers of America though the TST New Visions Life Science Chapter. There I particpated in the social media and aquatics club and supported our club community service food pantry project.
I am Red Cross- lifeguard, first aid, and oxygen certefied
I love baking and cooking and I have become pretty profecient.
I live on a farm so taking car of animals is one of my strong suits and passions.
I am really good with kids, between lifeguarding and teaching lessons I have began to love kids and love teaching.
Cortland County Junior 4-H - In 4-H I am fair queen, in teen council, and in County Cackleberries Club. We meet every month and I participate in showing animals and art at the Cortland Counhty Jr. Fair.
Guiding Eyes for the Blind- I am raising a guiding eyes puppy. He is currently 20 months and is working on his way to become someones guide dog! He returns for his final testing in July and I have a new puppy who is three months old.
National Honors Society- This is a program for just juniors and seniors in which they participate in helping the schools and community. I was the bylaws chair where I help regulate community service hours and prodcue a positive atmosphere for the group. In my senior year I was elected as the secratary where I took notes and helped make desicions for the group.
Dryden Student Leadership- In student leadership we strive to help our community. We put on events such as culture day and trick or treat street. It is a student led club where we all voice our opinions and ideas to make our school a better place.
I have made blankets for Project Linus. My New Visions class also made blankets for Cayuga Medical Hospital. All of my middle school and high school years I was baking cookies and selling them to raise money for Brown Coat Cat Rescue in Ithaca. I also help with a can drive and have been a main seller at plant/ baked good sales for the rescue. I taught swim lessons for ages 6-13 as a voulenteer swim instructor for six weeks, two days a week at Dryden High School.
