Hi, I’m Alice Joy, and I’m an artist at heart! Graphic design is my strongest medium and the clearest way I share my work, but I started with paint, crayons, and anything I could get my hands on. I still approach design the same way—through curiosity, experimentation, and a lot of trial and error. I’m especially drawn to color, typography, and user experience, and I love combining different art styles into digital spaces. My process always starts off-screen with sketching, because that’s where my best ideas take shape.
Outside of design, I’m constantly creating in other ways—playing piano, singing, cooking, reading, traveling, and spending time with the people I love. Music, in particular, has shaped how I think about design; rhythm, emotion, and flow all translate into how I build visual experiences. I also (strangely) enjoy repetition and hands-on processes, which is probably why I’m so drawn to printmaking and detailed work. All of these interests feed into my creativity and tie back to my personal motto: create joy.
To me, graphic design is powerful because it blends art and communication. It can be expressive and playful, but also functional and necessary. Good design helps people understand the world around them—sometimes in ways they don’t even notice. That balance is what excites me most. I want to create work that not only looks interesting, but makes people feel something, pause, or see things a little differently.
I’m always learning, sometimes impatient, but consistently curious. My goal is to keep growing as a designer, explore new places and perspectives, and eventually work freelance so I can combine design with travel. No matter where I end up, I want to keep making thoughtful, engaging work—and most importantly, work that brings a little more joy into the world.
