Exhibit 7

For this project I wanted to work with clipping masks and vector shapes in Photoshop.

I created this fake poster for my photographer friend Jordyn to announce a fake Gallery showing at the Granary, a prestigious art gallery in Sanpete County, UT, where we went to school together.

The orange flower on the right is an image she took there

Design Elements

Contrast - Contrast between intense color and bright white background, contrast between colors

Repetition - Repeating hexagon shape and font

Alignment - Hexagons are aligned against their sides and against the right of the image, text is left aligned

Proximity - Having the title and artist name separate creates emphasis, and having the opening and location info in a smaller font below gives the eye a natural path to follow from top left corner, down past middle-left, and then around the pictures to the top right corner

Color - Each hexagon has a dominant color, yellow, blue, purple, orange, and red. Some of these were edited to enhance these colors.

Type - The type is sans-serif (Corbel Regular - Microsoft Font) and left aligned

Skills:

Photoshop - Polygon tool, Place Embedded, Layer Tool, Create Clipping Mask, Transform, Paragraph Type tool, Adjustment Layers (Hue/Saturation, Color Balance), Selection tools (Polygonal Lasso tool), Layer masks, Inverse selection, Grouping
