Hystricomorpha Rodent Specimen Image Archive

This catalogue lists rodent museum voucher specimens of Hystricomorpha represented in the Alhajeri Lab photographic archive. All 81 specimens have skull photographs (crania and/or mandibles); 53 specimens also have study-skin photographs, including 50 skins photographed with a color reference. For most specimens, skull photographs include dorsal, ventral, and lateral views of the cranium together with labial and occlusal views of the mandible.

Taxonomy: Taxonomic names were standardized against the Mammal Diversity Database (MDD), version 2.5, released 28 July 2026, where specimen-level assignment was unambiguous. Museum abbreviations and voucher identifiers follow the source records. This catalogue documents the lab's photographic archive and does not replace the holding collection's current catalogue or specimen determination. Researchers should confirm current taxonomy, identification, and specimen status with the holding collection before publication.
