🎵 Kenny Hutchison (Piano, Hammond organ, accordion, synth) – A renowned music director, broadcaster, vocal coach, and music teacher, Kenny is the leader of the Edinburgh band The Flavours. He is well known for his work on Forth 2 Radio’s ‘The Best of Scottish’ and has been a key figure in Scottish music for decades.
🎵 Calais Brown (Guitars, mandolin) – A talented multi-instrumentalist, Calais is also a member of The Flavours. He has toured with The Mavericks, played in many Edinburgh-based bands, and recorded as a session musician in Nashville, bringing a diverse range of influences to his playing.
🎵 Kevin McGuire (Double bass) – An in-demand Scottish bassist, Kevin has played with countless folk and contemporary artists. He has more recently toured with Karine Polwart and Eddi Reader, lending his rich bass tones to some of Scotland’s most celebrated voices.
🎵 Jim McDermott (Drums, percussion) – A respected drummer in the Scottish rock and folk scene, Jim has performed with Simple Minds, Deacon Blue, Gun, The Silencers, and Del Amitri. His work also includes the BBC TV series 'Tutti Frutti', making him a familiar name in Scotland’s musical heritage.
🎵 David Paton (Bass guitar) – Best known as the frontman of Pilot, David enjoyed chart success in the 1970s with hits like ‘Magic’ and ‘January’. He has also toured extensively with Elton John, performed with Paul McCartney, and worked as a session musician with various international artists.
🎵 Tony Kime (Violin) – A classically trained musician with a music honours degree, Tony worked as a BBC recording engineer before retiring to focus on arranging music for string ensembles.
🎵 Jennifer Leitch (Backing vocals) – With a strong background in musical theatre, Jennifer brings a theatrical and dynamic vocal presence to Alex’s recordings and performances.
🎵 James Mackintosh (Ukulele) – A regular performer in Edinburgh venues, James contributes his bright and rhythmic ukulele playing to Alex’s music, adding a lively touch to live performances.
🎵 David Manderson (Piano, Hammond organ, synth) – A versatile keyboardist, David’s expertise in both traditional folk and modern soundscapes helps shape the atmospheric textures in Alex’s music.
