My new research on tick-borne Rickettsia in Russia Sympatric Occurrence of Rickettsia slovaca and Rickettsia raoultii in Dermacentor Ticks from Samara Oblast and the First Molecular Detection of Rickettsia felis in Russia and Globally in Dermacentor reticulatus is now out in Microorganisms!
Key findings:
33.5% of Dermacentor ticks in Samara Oblast carried spotted fever group Rickettsia
Rickettsia raoultii dominates (94.4%), Rickettsia slovaca less common (4.6%)
First-ever detection of Rickettsia felis in Russia
First-ever detection of Rickettsia felis in Dermacentor reticulatus ticks globally
